5 Tips To Choosing A Good Housekeeping Service
Hiring a housekeeper can be a nightmare for many homeowners. What about you?
There are some challenges to break through in the process. Some housekeepers, even with good intentions, cannot please their customers because they simply do not clean well.
Others are just in it for the money, and do not care about doing an excellent job.
There are still others who are too expensive, unreliable, and sadly, some are dishonest.
No matter what your problem may be, here are 5 tips to choosing a housekeeping service that will get the job done, and leave you with peace of mind.
1. Always ask for and check references. When you ask a person to do a bid, ask them if they have references. If they him and haw about it, you may not want to hire them. Also, check those references, just as an employer would for someone wanting a job with their company.
2. Determine if you want a good Price or better value. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. It's OK to pay less, but is your house really getting CLEAN...they way YOU want? If the person is willing to do it your way, and their references check out, they may likely be worth the extra money.
3. Be open to hire married couples who have experience. They work well together, have good relationships with their customers, check each other's work which is a good combination for the best value for your money.
4. Be reasonable. Ask yourself, how much would YOU charge someone if you had to clean their home, including toilets, trash and other menial cleaning tasks? Don't insult the prospective housekeeper(s) if you don't agree with their price. Cleaning is hard work. It is also a LUXURY for those who can afford it.
5. Sign an agreement. Even if your cleaning is just basic, have something in writing including the tasks to do and the price. This will prevent confusion in the long run. Most business persons are reasonable, so if you don't agree with something, tell them about it.
In the next issue, you will learn ways to KEEP your service around and maintain the quality YOU want.
